Xiaomi's Redmi Note series is known for offering great value for money, and the latest models, the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, are no exception. Both devices offer a lot of features and performance for their price, but there are some key differences between the two.

Design and display

Both the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus have the same design and display. They both have a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1080p. They also have a plastic frame, a fingerprint scanner on the side, an IR Blaster, dual speakers, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The main difference in design is that the Note 12 Pro is lighter and thinner than the Note 12 Pro Plus. This is because the Note 12 Pro Plus has a larger battery and a more powerful camera sensor.

Cameras

The Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus have similar camera setups, with a 200-megapixel main sensor on the Pro Plus and a 50-megapixel main sensor on the Pro. They also have the same ultra-wide and macro cameras.

This means that the Note 12 Pro Plus can charge from 0 to 100% in about 15 minutes, while the Note 12 Pro will take about 30 minutes.

Video recording

Both the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus can record video in 4K at 30 frames per second. However, the video stabilization is not very effective at this resolution. For better stabilization, it is recommended to record in 1080p.

The front-facing cameras on both devices can record in 1080p at 60 frames per second.

Performance

Both the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus have the same chipset and 8GB of RAM, and both run on MIUI 14.05 based on Android 12. This means that they have the same performance, and there is no noticeable difference between the two devices in terms of speed and multitasking.

So, which Redmi Note 12 model should you get? It depends on your needs and budget.

If you are looking for the fastest charging speed and the best camera, then the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is the way to go. However, if you are on a budget or you value a lighter and thinner phone, then the Redmi Note 12 Pro is a great option.
